About the workshop:  Back by popular demand, Chuck Loring returns to Brevard to share his expertise and help you build the capacity of your board/your organization.  During this interactive day, you’ll learn from Chuck and your peers and gain knowledge of the major building blocks of an effective board.  Areas of discussion include topics like how to identify, recruit and orient board members, board roles and responsibilities, effective board structure and the board’s role in fundraising.

This workshop is recommended for board members interested in being better prepared to make meaningful contributions to the organization you care so deeply about…to understand and handle the responsibilities of purposeful board membership, from legal liability to strategic planning.  It’s never been a better time to invest in your nonprofit leadership.

If you serve on a board(s) or are seeking a board service volunteer position – or if you are a staff member working with a board of directors – you’ll benefit from attending this workshop. Here’s what several of last year’s attendees had to say:  “Tactical, actionable for board members.”  “Role & function of board; fundraising section was very beneficial!”  “A great road map for board recruitment and retention.”  “Great information & great workshop!”

Bring your board members and leadership team to this day-long seminar and catch some of Chuck Loring’s contagious enthusiasm for excellence in board governance and fundraising.

Join LEAD Brevard for Leadership After Hours at Titusville’s only craft beer micro brewery, Playalinda Brewing Company- Brix Project!  Brix Project officially opened its doors in September 2016 and is located in south Titusville, in a building that was once home to Brevard-based Barn Light Electric’s manufacturing center. We will be set-up in the middle of a working brewery with a production capacity of 30 barrels!

Light appetizers will be provided and a cash bar available.  Brix Project’s brewmaster will take us on a tour and share with us the brewing process, the different types of beer, and what Playalinda Brewing Company is doing to reduce their carbon footprint.

The brewery’s bay doors may be open to the outside so please dress accordingly.  Because this is a working brewery, it is advised to skip the heels.

A big LEAD Brevard ‘thank you’ to Greg Donovan, Executive Director of the Orlando-Melbourne International Airport and his team for their generous support of the Leadership Brevard class of 2017, including, perhaps, the first ever “runway” group photograph!  The digital welcome sign at the airports entrance also saluted the Leadership Brevard class, so NASA Blvd. traffic was aware of the connection.  The airfield tour included a stop at the Embraer Customer Center, where LB 2017 members were able to view and “test flight” mock ups of the private Phenom jets on display, courtesy of Phil Krull.
